is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Built Environment, School of Construction Economics & Management at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. She has held previous academic positions at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). Prisca is currently the Deputy Coordinator for Postgraduate Real Estate Development Programme at Wits University. Her current focus includes entrepreneurship and use of Green Building Technologies (GBT) for sustainable rural development (Won 3rd Place Prestigious Growthpoint Grenovate Award in 2018 with her students). Her PhD focused on Inclusive Human Settlements and is an advocate of community based solutions to empower the poor and ameliorate poverty. She is a researcher in the Built Environment, and she brings diversity in local, national, and international developmental programs and conferences on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Prisca has skills in proposal writing and management of projects. She has held advisory roles for policy & regulation of capital-market funding in support of sustainable human settlements through DFIs, PPPs for infrastructure development, community based development models, mortgage innovation, and property asset management. She is a co-director of three companies based in South Africa: Achievers Pride Day Care, Endear Africa Logistics Company, & Expedite Africa Property Solutions. She holds a PhD in Real Estate from Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa, MSc in Real Estate (KTH, Sweden), BCom Hons Financial Analysis & Portfolio Management, from UCT, Cape Town, South Africa, BSc Economics from UZ, Harare, Zimbabwe, Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Wits University, South Africa.
is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Insurance Brokers Zambia Limited (SIBZ), a subsidiary of Stanbic Bank Zambia, a member of the Standard Bank Group. Chilufya has in the past taken lead roles in designing, planning and facilitating for implementation of key strategic initiatives to drive an Inclusive Insurance Market in Zambia.
She was in December 2019 named one of “2019 Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa by Reset Global People – Pulse and recently featured in the African Insurance Bulletin as a Female Trailblazer of the African Insurance Industry unveiled during the Africa Insurance Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa on 11th June 2019. She was in November 2017 also presented with the Leadership Excellence Award in the Africa’s Woman Emerging Business Leaders Category by CMO Asia in Mauritius, and she has also been listed and conferred with the Citation of the “100 Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders listing 2016” by the World Marketing Congress in Mumbai, India. With exposure in the African, Asia and European Markets, Chilufya has over the years of experience in the insurance and financial services sector.
Chilufya holds a Master of Science Degree in Global Consumer Marketing (MSc MCM) with University of Liverpool (UK), a Professional Post-Graduate Diploma (DipCIM) with Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), a Leadership Certificate by Duke CORPORATE EDUCATION South Africa and completed her Executive program in Innovation & Strategy with the University of Oxford, Said Business School, UK.
